Who pays for a switchboard fault in our Kirribilli apartment — us or strata?
The sub-board and circuits inside your lot are your responsibility. The meter room and mains supply feeding it are the owners corporation's. In older Kirribilli blocks with shared meter rooms this is where most disputes happen — we can identify which side a fault falls on.
Can our owners corporation refuse an EV charger in Kirribilli?
Not on appearance alone. EV charging is treated as sustainability infrastructure under NSW strata law, so it needs only a simple-majority vote, and the Right to Charge reforms before NSW Parliament are expected to make approvals easier again. Strata installs typically run $2,500–$6,000, as a guide.
