Electrician in Wahroonga

Wahroonga is the most heritage-heavy suburb we work in — substantial federation and Californian bungalow homes on large, established blocks, many of them in or adjoining conservation areas.

Electrically that means two things at once. First, the same rubber-insulated and cloth-covered wiring that makes Pennant Hills a rewire suburb, but in larger houses with more circuits and more of it. Second, real constraints on how the work can be done. You cannot chase cable through decorative plasterwork, pressed metal ceilings or original joinery the way you can through 1980s gyprock, and in a conservation area some external work has planning implications.

That makes the approach different rather than the electrical principles. Rewiring a Wahroonga federation home is a careful, staged job that routes cable through roof spaces, subfloors and existing chases wherever possible, and accepts that some rooms will be more difficult and more expensive than others. Anyone quoting it at a flat per-room rate hasn't looked at the house.

The other Wahroonga theme is scale. These are big homes with long cable runs, multiple living areas, often a pool and outbuildings, and increasingly two EVs. Boards that were adequate for a 1970s retrofit are frequently well short now.
