Can insulation touch my Cherrybrook downlights?
Only if the fittings are IC-4 rated, which the original halogens are not. That's why the insulation was cut away around them. Converting to IC-4 rated LEDs lets the insulation be reinstated properly, which fixes the fire risk and a large hole in your thermal envelope at the same time.
